There comes a point in life when you realize you're not simply looking for a new place to live; you're searching for a new way to live.

After a successful career helping organizations navigate change, I found myself facing one of the biggest transitions of my own life. I dreamed of slowing down, living by the ocean, embracing a different culture, and creating a life with more balance, purpose, and adventure. For me, that place was Cascais, Portugal.

Like so many others, I began where everyone begins, with questions.

How do I navigate the visa process? Where should I live? How does healthcare work? What documents do I need? How do I open a bank account? What should I do before I leave? What happens after I arrive?

I spent countless hours researching, joining expat groups, watching videos, reading blogs, attending webinars, and speaking with people who had already made the move. Every source offered a piece of the puzzle, but no one offered the complete picture. I found excellent immigration professionals, knowledgeable real estate experts, relocation specialists, and generous expats willing to share their experiences, but there was no trusted guide to help connect it all into a clear, step-by-step journey.

The move itself was only the beginning.

I soon realized that successfully relocating wasn't just about obtaining a visa or finding a home. It was about building a new life, learning unfamiliar systems, creating new routines, making meaningful connections, and feeling confident that I truly belonged in my new community.

That experience changed me.

It also inspired me to create Pathway to Portugal.
